UFBU Protest - Demands for 11th Bipartite Salary Early Settlement

UFBU protested for early wage settlement Members of United Forum of Bank Employees Unions (UFBU) and All-India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) protest over Parliament Street, demanding action on all those involved, connected and responsible for the Punjab National Bank (PNB) Scam worth thousands of crore rupees addition to early wage settlement. [Although most of the protested not confirmed with the news].
A United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) delegation met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and demanded that action be taken against those responsible for frauds, and appointment of officer and employee directors on the boards of public sector banks be done immediately.

The leaders of UFBU (representing nine trade unions) had earlier organised a dharna to draw attention to their demands.
The demands, among others, include 
1. Changing the asset classification and provisioning norms — changed by the the RBI in mid-February — before they dent the banking system
2. Providing welfare measures for bank employees based on operating profit, and 
3. Directing the Indian Banks’ Association to come to an early settlement on wages (up to scale VII).
DT Franco, General Secretary, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), in a release said that the Finance Minister had assured that there would not be any privatization of PSBs. Further, FM added that there is no issue regarding ownership of banks but supervision “is the problem”.
