5 Days a Week May not be implemented for Public Sector Bank's Employees

11th Bipartite Wage Revision Updates - The major demand of the 11th Bipartite wage settlement is 5 days a week by all the employees of the public sector banks as a whole. This was the foremost agenda of their charter of demands for 11th bipartite.

There was a positive response from the IBA during the initial round of the negotiation talks. It was even announced by the Banker's union about acceptance of 5 days a week.

Recently, in the last meeting, the IBA had shown hesitation in accepting this demand of 5 days a week and retreated from their early promises and informed the banker's union that they would take the cognizance of the finance ministry and RBI before accepting the demand.

The negative approach of the IBA in accepting the 5 days a week demand, relates the non acceptance.Even, UFBU has also informed through their circular that IBA had denied in accepting the proposal of the five days a week and would discuss separately after taking the cognizance of finance ministry.

11th Bipartite Wage settlement is like a cinderella ball for the public sector banks' employees and after two years of wait they probably would not get anything. I don't know who to blam ?
