Writ Petition Filed in High Court For Equality in Salary of Bank Officer With Central Government

A very positive news for Government Bankers. An officer from Madurai Sri S. Dhanasekhar has filled a Writ petition in Madurai Bench of Madras High Court for equality in Salary of Banks' Officer in JMGS-I at Par with Class -1 Officer of Central Government.


The ground of petition is a Notification by Central Government, Ministry of Finance, Government of India where it was informed by the Central Government that Class-1 Officer of Central Government is equivalent to Officer in JMGS-1 of the Banks.

With the new law, all the the Executive level posts i.e. Board level executives and managerial level posts would be treated as equivalent to group ‘A’ posts in Government , Junior Management Grade Scale-1 and above of Public Sector Banks, Financial Institutions and Public Sector Insurance Corporations will be treated as equivalent to Group ‘A’ in the Government of India. Hon’ble Judge of the bench has passed Orders for issuing Notice to opposite parties and has fixed 16.11.2018 as next date of hearing. 

It is also heard that AIBOC has announced that entire cost of the writ petition would be borne by them. A very positive approach by Union. This is to remember that AIBOC is demanding Pay Revision on the basis of CPC Formula and has welcomed the Writ Petition filed by Sri S. Dhanasekar.
